Reviewer guidelines
Peer review at Zocto is double-blind by default, with an option for open, signed reports.
What we ask
Assess originality, methodological rigour, statistical validity, clinical relevance and clarity. Comment on whether the conclusions are supported by the data presented.
Timeline
Accept or decline within 3 days of the invitation and return your report within 14 days. Tell the editor early if you need an extension.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts are confidential documents. Do not share, cite, or upload them to any external service, including generative AI tools.
Competing interests
Decline the invitation if you have collaborated with the authors in the last three years, share an institution, or hold any financial interest in the outcome.
Tone
Write critique you would be willing to sign. Be specific, constructive and free of personal or demographic remarks.
Recommendation
Choose accept, minor revision, major revision or reject, and give confidential comments to the editor separately from comments to the authors.
Recognition
Reviewers receive a verified review record on their Zocto Research profile and may opt in to publishing signed reports alongside the article.
