Cookie & Consent Policy

Our consent model
Nothing optional runs before you say yes. On your first visit a banner asks whether analytics may be enabled. Until you accept, no page view, event or identifier is recorded — the tracker simply does not run. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time from Privacy choices.
When you withdraw consent we stop collecting immediately and remove the analytics identifiers from your browser. You can also erase everything already recorded, in one click, from the same page.
What we store in your browser
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| zocto_consent_v1 | Local storage — strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, and when you decided. | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| zocto_vid | Local storage — analytics (consent required) | A random identifier so repeat visits can be counted once. Not linked to your name or email. | Until you withdraw consent or delete your data |
| zocto_sid | Session storage — analytics (consent required) | Groups the pages of a single visit into one session. | Cleared when you close the tab |
| Authentication session | Local storage — strictly necessary | Keeps editorial staff signed in. Only set after a successful sign-in. | Until sign-out or expiry |
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, fingerprinting, or third-party marketing pixels.
Analytics is privacy-first
Analytics is collected by our own servers, not a third-party ad network. IP addresses are masked before they are written to the database — IPv4 loses its final octet, IPv6 is truncated to a /48 prefix — so location is approximate (city or region at best) and cannot be traced back to your connection.
Notice under the DPDP Act, 2023
This page, together with our Privacy Policy, forms the notice required by section 5 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: it describes the personal data we process, the purposes, how to withdraw consent, how to exercise your rights, and how to complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Our Grievance Officer can be reached at info@zocto.in.
