Twenty-plus parameters. One question β does this serve the patient?
Our scoring engine is open about what it measures and why. We publish the parameter framework so recognition feels earned, not bestowed.
We deliberately use signals that are public β patient reviews, peer commentary, CMS and state regulatory records, published research, hospital price-transparency files, accreditation status and ethical history. Private commercial data is never the basis for recognition. AI accelerates the analysis; senior editors make the final call.
Core evaluation parameters
Multi-source review analysis across Google, Healthgrades, Vitals, Yelp and hospital surveys, weighted by recency and depth.
Absence of overtreatment, undisclosed conflicts, False Claims Act settlements or active regulatory action.
CMS price-transparency file quality, plain-language cost estimates, second-opinion friendliness and records access.
Demonstrable contributions to clinical practice, NIH-funded research, trials and care-delivery models.
Medicaid and charity-care reach, rural and language access, and care beyond affluent metros.
Standing among peers, patients and the press, including CMS Star Ratings and Leapfrog grades.
Reputation dimensions our intelligence engine measures
Beyond a single score, Zocto evaluates each entity across distinct, publicly observable reputation dimensions.
Consistency of patient sentiment over time, not just averages.
Disclosure of pricing, credentials, outcomes and grievance channels.
How quickly and respectfully concerns are addressed in the open.
Teaching, residency training, peer-reviewed work and public health literacy.
Adoption of new clinical, operational or technological practice.
Affordability, reach, language and inclusion for under-served patients.
Pattern of ethical conduct across years, not isolated incidents.
Detection of coordinated, fake or manipulated review activity.
Severity, frequency and resolution quality of public complaints.
Direction and rate of change in public trust β improving or eroding.
What we assess
Trends across Google, Healthgrades, Vitals, Yelp, Press Ganey summaries and HCAHPS survey results.
Staff behaviour, wait times, transparency and overall service quality.
Cost perception, surprise-billing history and fairness as reflected in patient accounts.
Long-term review patterns and public outcome measures indicating real results.
Service quality measured by review volume, recency and stability.
Reputation indicators and trust signals from the wider community.
Eligibility β who cannot be listed
To preserve the integrity of recognition, the following are not eligible for evaluation:
Clinicians or facilities currently suspended or revoked by a state medical board or licensing authority.
Entities under active severe action by CMS, the FDA, HHS-OIG, a state attorney general or an equivalent body.
Credible evidence of paid, coordinated or incentivised review manipulation.
Open Medicare/Medicaid fraud, False Claims Act or material financial misconduct matters.
Accreditation and federal conditions of participation certify clinical systems: protocols, infection control, medication management, patient rights, staffing and administration β proof that the required policies and systems exist.
Evaluates how those systems are experienced by patients in real life β patient-perceived trust, transparency, billing fairness and service experience. Complementary to clinical accreditation, never a substitute for it.
Transparency: Zocto is not a government authority, medical licensing body, clinical accreditation organization, or insurance regulator. Recognitions reflect AI-assisted analysis of publicly observable trust, reputation, ethics and credibility indicators. Recognition is independent and merit-based.
