Molbio Diagnostics Sees Rs 52.7 Cr Profit in Q1 After IPO Success

Molbio Diagnostics posts Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, reversing last year's loss, driven by Truenat test-kit sales.
New Delhi: Molbio Diagnostics reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending June 2026, marking a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year. The company's financial upswing follows its recent successful Initial Public Offering (IPO), which raised approximately Rs 940 crore.
Truenat Test-Kit Sales Propel Growth
The surge in profitability is largely attributed to the increased consumption of Truenat test kits. According to the company's regulatory filing, test-kit volumes skyrocketed to 62.4 lakh units in Q1 FY27, compared to just 7.9 lakh units during the same quarter in the previous fiscal year. Truenat is renowned for its capability to rapidly and accurately detect a variety of infectious diseases at the point of care.
Molbio's total income for the quarter reached Rs 411.48 crore, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in Q1 FY26. This impressive financial performance underscores the growing demand for the company's diagnostic solutions.
IPO and Market Listing
Molbio Diagnostics made its debut on the stock exchanges on August 17, 2026, following its IPO. The listing has not only provided the company with a substantial capital boost but has also enhanced its market visibility and investor confidence.
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future prospects. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1," he stated.
Future Outlook
With the successful market entry and robust financial performance, Molbio Diagnostics is poised for further growth. The company plans to capitalize on the increasing demand for its diagnostic tools, particularly the Truenat test kits, to sustain its upward trajectory.
The company’s strategic focus remains on expanding its product offerings and enhancing its market presence to drive long-term profitability and shareholder value.
