Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 Post-IPO

Molbio Diagnostics has turned its fortunes, reporting a Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, a significant shift from last year's loss.
Newly-listed Molbio Diagnostics has announced a robust financial performance in the first quarter of the fiscal year, posting a profit of Rs 52.74 crore. This marks a significant turnaround from the Rs 23.94 crore loss reported in the same period last year. The company attributes this financial upswing to the increased adoption of its Truenat test kits.
Truenat Test Kits Drive Revenue Surge
Molbio's total income in the June quarter soared to Rs 411.48 crore, a sharp increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. A primary driver of this growth has been the surge in sales of Truenat test kits, which saw volumes rise dramatically to 62.4 lakh units, up from 7.9 lakh units in the same period last year. Truenat is a diagnostic tool designed to accurately and quickly detect a variety of infectious diseases at the point of care.
Successful IPO Launch
The company, which debuted on the stock market on August 17, successfully raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The transition to a publicly listed entity has been well-received, with strong financial results underscoring investor confidence.
Leadership Remarks
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company," he stated. "We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."
The company's strategic focus on expanding its diagnostic capabilities and leveraging market opportunities has positioned it well for continued growth in the coming quarters.
