Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 Post-IPO

Molbio Diagnostics posts Rs 52.7 crore Q1 profit, reversing last year's Rs 23.94 crore loss, following IPO success.
Newly-listed Molbio Diagnostics has reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter of the fiscal year, marking a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year. The company attributed this financial success to the robust demand for its Truenat test kits, which have seen a substantial increase in sales volume.
Truenat Test Kits Drive Growth
The diagnostics firm, which went public on August 17 following a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) that raised approximately Rs 940 crore, has experienced a significant boost in its financial performance. The total income for the quarter rose to Rs 411.48 crore, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. This surge is largely due to the heightened usage of Truenat test kits.
The company reported that the volume of Truenat test kits sold increased dramatically to 62.4 lakh units, compared to just 7.9 lakh units in the same quarter last year. Truenat is known for its ability to rapidly and accurately detect a wide range of infectious diseases at the point of care, making it a valuable tool in the diagnostics industry.
CEO Remarks on Strong Start
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future following the strong start to FY27. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company... we have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1," he stated.
The company's strategic focus on expanding the reach and application of its Truenat technology appears to be paying off, as evidenced by its improved financial performance and market presence. The successful IPO and subsequent financial results underscore Molbio Diagnostics' potential for continued growth in the competitive diagnostics sector.
