Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 Amid Truenat Demand

Molbio Diagnostics posts a Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, reversing a loss, fueled by Truenat test-kit sales.
Newly-listed Molbio Diagnostics has announced a significant turnaround in its financial performance, reporting a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending June 2026. This marks a sharp reversal from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year, according to the company's recent regulatory filing.
Strong IPO Boosts Financial Performance
The diagnostics firm recently raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO), which was completed with the company's stock market debut on August 17. This financial injection appears to have supported the company's growth trajectory, contributing to its robust quarterly performance.
Truenat Test-Kit Sales Drive Revenue
Molbio's total income soared to Rs 411.48 crore for the quarter, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. A key driver of this growth has been the increased demand for the company's Truenat test-kits. The volume of these kits sold surged to 62.4 lakh units, up from 790,000 units in the year-ago period.
Truenat, which is designed for rapid and accurate detection of various infectious diseases at the point of care, has seen widespread adoption. This has significantly contributed to Molbio’s revenue and profitability, underscoring the product's market appeal and the firm’s strategic positioning in the diagnostics industry.
Leadership Comments on Milestone Year
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, highlighted the importance of the current fiscal year as a milestone for the company. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company," Natarajan stated, adding that the company has started the year with strong growth in both revenue and profitability.
The company's financial turnaround and strategic initiatives underscore its potential in the diagnostics sector, particularly as demand for efficient and rapid testing solutions continues to rise globally.
