AI Summary

Molbio Diagnostics, fresh from its Rs 940 crore IPO, reports a Rs 52.7 crore profit for Q1, reversing a previous year loss.

Molbio Diagnostics, a newly listed player in the diagnostics sector, has announced a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending June 2026. This marks a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the corresponding period last year, according to the company's regulatory filing.

Strong Financial Performance Post-IPO

The company, which successfully raised approximately Rs 940 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and listed on the stock exchanges on August 17, attributes its robust financial performance to the increased consumption of its Truenat test kits. Molbio's total income soared to Rs 411.48 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 100.47 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Truenat Test Kits Drive Growth

Key to this growth has been the substantial rise in the volume of Truenat test kits sold, which surged to 62.4 lakh units compared to just 7.9 lakh units in the year-ago period. Truenat, as detailed on Molbio's website, is engineered to accurately and swiftly detect a wide array of infectious diseases at the point of care.

Leadership Remarks

Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics Ltd, commented on the impressive start to the fiscal year. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company," he stated. "We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."

This performance sets a positive tone for Molbio Diagnostics as it embarks on its journey as a public company, with investors and industry watchers keenly observing its next moves in the competitive diagnostics landscape.
