Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 After IPO

Molbio Diagnostics swings to Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, boosted by Truenat test-kit sales.
Molbio Diagnostics, a recent entrant to the stock market, has announced a significant turnaround with a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the quarter ending June 2026. This marks a substantial recovery from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year. The company's financial success is attributed to the robust sales of its Truenat test-kits, according to a regulatory filing.
IPO Boost and Revenue Surge
The diagnostics firm, which was listed on the stock exchanges on August 17, 2026, raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The fresh capital injection has enabled Molbio Diagnostics to expand its operations and improve its financial standing. The total income for the first quarter of the current fiscal year reached Rs 411.48 crore, a stark increase from Rs 100.47 crore in Q1 FY26, driven largely by increased demand for Truenat test-kits.
Truenat's Market Impact
Truenat test-kits have seen a dramatic rise in sales, with volumes increasing to 62.4 lakh units from 7,90,000 units in the previous year. These kits, known for their ability to rapidly and accurately detect a range of infectious diseases at the point of care, have become a cornerstone of the company's product offerings. This surge in demand has been a critical factor in the company's improved financial performance.
Leadership's Outlook
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future, highlighting the significance of the current fiscal year as a milestone given the transition to a publicly listed entity. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company... we have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1," he stated.
The company aims to maintain its growth trajectory by leveraging its innovative diagnostic solutions to meet increasing healthcare demands. With the continued success of its Truenat products, Molbio Diagnostics is poised to strengthen its position in the diagnostics market.
