Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 After IPO

Molbio Diagnostics posts Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, reversing last year's loss, driven by Truenat test-kit sales.
Molbio Diagnostics has announced a significant turnaround in its financial performance, posting a net profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending June 2026. This marks a sharp recovery from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year, according to the company's recent regulatory filing.
Strong Results Following IPO
The diagnostics firm, which made its debut on the stock exchange on August 17, 2026, raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The successful listing has been a milestone for the company, contributing to its improved financial standing.
The company's total income soared to Rs 411.48 crore in Q1 FY27, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore reported in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. This growth was primarily fueled by the rising demand for Molbio's Truenat test kits.
Surge in Truenat Test-Kit Sales
Molbio's flagship product, the Truenat test kit, has seen a remarkable increase in volume sales. The company reported that it sold 62.4 lakh units in the June quarter, a dramatic rise from just 7.9 lakh units in the year-ago period. Truenat is designed to rapidly and accurately diagnose a wide range of infectious diseases at the point of care, which has contributed to its growing popularity.
"FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company," said Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics Ltd. "We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."
Looking Ahead
The company's improved financial performance and successful IPO underscore its strategic positioning in the diagnostics sector. With the increased adoption of its Truenat test kits, Molbio is poised for continued growth as it leverages its expanded capital base to enhance product offerings and market reach.
The positive first-quarter results reflect the firm's ability to capitalize on its technological innovations and market demand, setting a promising tone for the rest of the fiscal year. As the company continues to expand its footprint, stakeholders will be keenly watching how Molbio navigates the competitive diagnostics landscape.
