Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 After IPO

Molbio Diagnostics recorded a Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, rebounding from a prior loss, driven by strong Truenat test-kit sales.
Newly-listed Molbio Diagnostics has reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending in June, marking a significant turnaround from a Rs 23.94 crore loss in the same period last year. This financial rebound comes shortly after the company raised approximately Rs 940 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and was officially listed on the stock exchanges on August 17.
Surge in Truenat Test-Kit Sales Drives Revenue
The company's total income for the quarter soared to Rs 411.48 crore, a substantial increase compared to Rs 100.47 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. This growth was primarily driven by the increased volume of Truenat test-kit sales, which expanded to 62.4 lakh units, a significant rise from 7,90,000 units sold in the year-ago period. Truenat is a diagnostic tool designed to quickly and accurately detect a broad spectrum of infectious diseases at the point of care.
Executive Leadership Comments on Performance
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics Ltd, expressed optimism about the company's financial performance, noting that FY27 is a milestone year due to their transition to a publicly-traded company. Natarajan highlighted the strong start to the fiscal year, with both revenue and profitability showing healthy growth in the first quarter.
The impressive financial results underline the company's strategic focus on expanding the reach and application of its diagnostic solutions. The successful IPO and subsequent market performance position Molbio Diagnostics for continued growth and innovation in the diagnostics sector.
