Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in Q1 After IPO

Molbio Diagnostics achieved a Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, a turnaround from last year's loss, fueled by Truenat test-kit demand.
Molbio Diagnostics, a recent entrant to the stock market, has announced a remarkable financial turnaround with a Rs 52.74 crore profit for the first quarter ending June 2026. This marks a significant recovery from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year, as detailed in the company’s regulatory filing released on Monday.
IPO Success and Financial Turnaround
The company, which successfully raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO), made its debut on the stock exchange on August 17. The substantial capital influx has evidently supported its growth strategy, enabling Molbio Diagnostics to reverse its financial fortunes within a year.
Molbio's total income for the quarter stood at Rs 411.48 crore, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. This robust financial performance is largely attributed to the increased demand for its Truenat test kits.
Truenat Test Kits Drive Growth
The company's flagship product, the Truenat test kit, has seen a significant surge in consumption. Volumes soared to 62.4 lakh units in the first quarter, compared to just 7.90 lakh units during the same period last year. Truenat, designed for rapid and accurate detection of infectious diseases at the point of care, has become a critical component of Molbio's revenue stream.
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's trajectory. He stated, "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."
Strategic Outlook
Molbio's strategic focus on expanding the reach of its Truenat test kits seems to be paying off, as evidenced by the significant rise in sales volumes. The company is poised to leverage its IPO proceeds to further its market penetration and product development efforts.
The diagnostics firm continues to capitalize on its technological advancements in the healthcare sector, aiming to meet the increasing demand for rapid testing solutions. As the company progresses through FY27, stakeholders will be keenly observing its ability to sustain this growth trajectory and enhance shareholder value.
