Molbio Diagnostics, newly listed on the stock exchange, announces Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, reversing last year's loss.

Molbio Diagnostics, a recent entrant to the stock market, has reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending in June. This marks a significant turnaround from the Rs 23.94 crore loss recorded in the same period last year, according to the company's latest regulatory filing.

IPO Success Fuels Financial Turnaround

The diagnostics firm successfully raised approximately Rs 940 crore through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and was officially listed on the bourses on August 17. This strategic move has evidently bolstered its financial performance, as total income surged to Rs 411.48 crore in Q1, a substantial rise from Rs 100.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Truenat Test-Kit Drives Revenue Growth

A key factor contributing to Molbio's improved financial health is the increased consumption of its Truenat test-kits. The company reported a dramatic rise in test-kit volumes, reaching 62.4 lakh units compared to just 7,90,000 units a year ago. Truenat, as described on the company's website, is designed to rapidly and accurately detect a variety of infectious diseases at the point of care, enhancing its appeal in the diagnostics market.

Leadership Remarks on Strong Start

Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's trajectory. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1," he stated.

The company's robust performance in the first quarter sets a promising tone for the rest of the fiscal year, as it continues to leverage its newly acquired capital and expand its presence in the diagnostics sector.
