Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Crore Profit in First Quarter Post-IPO

Molbio Diagnostics posts Rs 52.74 crore profit in Q1 after raising Rs 940 crore via IPO.
Molbio Diagnostics, which recently debuted on the stock market, has announced a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This marks a significant turnaround from the Rs 23.94 crore loss recorded in the same period last year. The diagnostics company, known for its Truenat test kits, attributes this positive financial outcome to increased sales volumes.
IPO Boosts Financial Performance
The company's recent Initial Public Offering (IPO) raised approximately Rs 940 crore, bolstering its financial position. Molbio Diagnostics officially listed on the stock exchanges on August 17, marking its entry into the public market. The raised capital is expected to support the company's growth initiatives, including expanding the reach of its diagnostic offerings.
Truenat Test Kits Drive Revenue Growth
Molbio's total income for the quarter stood at Rs 411.48 crore, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The surge in revenue is largely attributed to the growing demand for the company's Truenat test kits, which are designed to rapidly detect a wide array of infectious diseases at the point of care.
Truenat test kit sales soared to 62.4 lakh units, a dramatic rise from 7,90,000 units sold in the same quarter last year. This surge in sales volume underscores the increasing reliance on Truenat's diagnostic capabilities across various healthcare settings.
Leadership Remarks on Strategic Transition
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, emphasized the significance of the company's recent financial achievements. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company," he stated. "We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."
The leadership at Molbio remains optimistic about sustaining this momentum, with plans to further capitalize on their innovative diagnostic solutions and expand their market footprint.
