Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Cr Profit in Q1, Reversing Losses

Molbio Diagnostics, a recent entrant to the stock market, has reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2027. This marks a substantial turnaround from the Rs 23.94 crore loss recorded in the same period last year. The company's strong financial performance follows its successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) in which it raised approximately Rs 940 crore.

IPO Success and Market Debut

The diagnostics firm made its debut on the stock exchange on August 17, setting the stage for what has been a promising start to its journey as a publicly traded company. The strong financial results are largely attributed to the increased consumption of its Truenat test kits, which significantly boosted the company's revenue.

Surge in Truenat Test Kit Sales

Molbio Diagnostics reported a total income of Rs 411.48 crore for the quarter ending June 2026, a substantial increase from Rs 100.47 crore in the previous year. The sales of Truenat test kits soared to 62.4 lakh units, up from just 7,90,000 units in the same quarter last year. Truenat, known for its ability to quickly and accurately diagnose a wide range of infectious diseases at the point of care, has been a key driver of the company's growth.

Leadership's Optimism

Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future, stating, "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."

The company's robust financial performance in its first quarter as a publicly listed entity underscores the successful execution of its business strategy and the growing demand for its diagnostic solutions.
