Molbio Diagnostics Reports Rs 52.7 Cr Profit in Q1 Post-IPO

Molbio Diagnostics turned a profit of Rs 52.74 crore in Q1, reversing a loss from the previous year, buoyed by strong Truenat test-kit sales.
Molbio Diagnostics, which recently went public, has reported a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending in June. This marks a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore recorded in the same period last year. The company attributes this financial improvement to the robust sales of its Truenat test kits.
Strong Financial Performance After IPO
The diagnostics company successfully raised approximately Rs 940 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) and was listed on the stock exchange on August 17. In its latest financial disclosure, Molbio Diagnostics reported a substantial increase in total income, which stood at Rs 411.48 crore for Q1 of the current fiscal year. This is a significant rise from Rs 100.47 crore in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Surge in Truenat Test-Kit Sales
A major driver of Molbio's financial success has been the increased demand for its Truenat test kits. The company sold 62.4 lakh units during the quarter, a substantial jump from 790,000 units sold in the same quarter last year. Truenat kits are designed to rapidly and accurately detect a variety of infectious diseases at the point of care, which has contributed to their growing popularity.
Leadership's Optimistic Outlook
Sriram Natarajan, Executive Director and CEO of Molbio Diagnostics, expressed optimism about the company's future. "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1," Natarajan stated.
The company’s performance in this quarter underscores its potential for continued growth in the diagnostics sector, driven by its innovative products and strategic market positioning.
