Molbio Diagnostics Achieves Rs 52.7 Cr Profit in Q1 After IPO

Molbio Diagnostics reported a Rs 52.7 crore profit in Q1, driven by robust Truenat test-kit sales, following its recent IPO.
Molbio Diagnostics has reported a significant turnaround in its financial performance, posting a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter ending June 2026. This marks a substantial recovery from a loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the same period last year. The remarkable improvement follows the company’s recent Initial Public Offering (IPO), which raised approximately Rs 940 crore, and its subsequent listing on the stock exchanges on August 17.
Surge in Truenat Test-Kit Sales
The company's impressive financial results are largely attributed to the increased demand for its Truenat test-kits. Molbio Diagnostics reported a surge in the volume of Truenat test-kits sold, with sales reaching 62.4 lakh units in the quarter, a significant increase from the 7,90,000 units sold in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Truenat test-kits are designed for the rapid and accurate detection of a wide range of infectious diseases at the point of care, offering a crucial tool for healthcare providers.
Financial Performance and Growth
Molbio Diagnostics' total income for the first quarter of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 411.48 crore, compared to Rs 100.47 crore in Q1 of the previous fiscal year. This growth underscores the company’s successful expansion and market penetration.
Executive Director and CEO Sriram Natarajan expressed optimism about the company's trajectory, stating, "FY27 is a milestone year for Molbio, marking our transition to a listed company. We have begun the year on a strong note, with healthy growth across both revenue and profitability in Q1."
Future Outlook
The company’s strong entry into the public market and its robust sales of Truenat test-kits highlight its potential for continued growth. Investors and stakeholders will be closely monitoring Molbio Diagnostics as it navigates its new status as a publicly traded company.
As the company continues to innovate and expand its product offerings, it is well-positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for diagnostic solutions, both domestically and internationally.
