Max Saket Expands to 1,200 Beds, Becomes Delhi's Largest Private Hospital

Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital in Saket, New Delhi, has expanded its capacity with the addition of a new 400-bed tower. This development makes it the largest private hospital in Delhi with a total of approximately 1,200 beds. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who highlighted the significance of this expansion in meeting the growing healthcare needs of the region.
Advanced Facilities and Technology
The new tower at Max Saket is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technologies, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot and the Mako Total Knee Replacement Robot. These innovations support precision-driven and minimally invasive procedures, enhancing the hospital's ability to provide tertiary and quaternary care across more than 22 specialties. According to Max Healthcare, this expansion aims to improve access to advanced medical care for patients in Delhi-NCR and beyond.
Strategic Expansion Plans
Max Healthcare's expansion at Saket is part of a broader strategy to increase its network capacity. The healthcare group currently operates 21 facilities with over 6,100 beds across several Indian states, including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Odisha. The company plans to expand further, targeting a total bed capacity of 10,000 over the next three to four years. As part of this expansion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced plans for an 800-bed hospital in Gujarat, with additional facilities planned for Gandhinagar and Surat.
Commitment to Healthcare Access
In addition to expanding its facilities, Max Healthcare is committed to providing accessible healthcare services. Last year, the company offered free treatment worth Rs. 244 crore to 3.60 lakh patients. Through its educational arm, the Max Institute of Medical Sciences, the organization has supported 1.62 lakh students with higher education, training, and professional learning programs.
Max Healthcare treated over 40 lakh patients from more than 800 cities and 180 countries in the last financial year, demonstrating its capacity to cater to both domestic and international patients seeking specialized care. The Saket expansion further solidifies Max Healthcare's presence in Delhi-NCR, enhancing its capability to deliver high-end clinical services and technology-enabled care.
