Max Healthcare to Open 800-Bed Hospital in Gujarat, Announces CM Patel

Max Healthcare is set to expand its footprint in India by establishing an 800-bed multispeciality hospital in Gujarat, as announced by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The announcement came after Patel's meeting with Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare, in Delhi.

Strategic Expansion in Gujarat

Chief Minister Patel revealed the plans via a post on social media platform X, highlighting the healthcare giant's intention to commence operations in Gujarat's healthcare sector. The initial phase includes the development of a modern 800-bed hospital, with further expansion plans across the cities of Gandhinagar and Surat.

Patel emphasized Gujarat's commitment to fostering world-class medical facilities and enhancing the state's healthcare infrastructure. He noted the state's progressive urban planning and favorable Floor Space Index (FSI) policies, which are conducive to large-scale healthcare projects.

Max Healthcare's Growth Trajectory

Max Healthcare currently operates 21 facilities with over 6,100 beds across regions including NCR Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Odisha. The company has set ambitious plans to increase its capacity to 10,000 beds within the next three to four years.

In the financial results for the first quarter ending June 2026, Max Healthcare reported a 16% year-on-year increase in gross revenue, amounting to Rs 2,982 crore. Its network profit after tax (PAT) also saw a modest rise of 3% year-on-year, reaching Rs 357 crore.
