Manipal Health Enterprises Ltd is actively pursuing expansion opportunities across multiple Indian states, including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and the Delhi-NCR region. The healthcare giant is adopting an innovative approach by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its operational model, as indicated in its recent annual report for FY26.
Strategic Acquisitions and Infrastructure Projects
In its bid to strengthen its presence, Manipal Hospitals is exploring strategic acquisitions in Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, the company is advancing a significant greenfield project in Juhu, Mumbai. This project recently progressed with the acquisition of land and buildings valued at Rs 495 crore, with Rs 130 crore contingent on specific conditions.
Manipal Hospitals continues to assess further inorganic growth opportunities in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, and across Eastern India, including West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Sikkim. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to add over 2,400 beds by 2030, including 483 brownfield and 1,943 greenfield beds.
AI-Enabled Healthcare Innovations
The healthcare provider is significantly investing in AI-driven technologies to enhance its service delivery. This includes scaling a unified Hospital Information System (HIS) to streamline clinical, diagnostic, and administrative processes. AI-enabled nursing handovers and wireless patient monitoring systems are already operational in 24 hospitals.
Further technological advancements include AI-powered call center automation to efficiently manage patient inquiries and appointments. These innovations are part of Manipal Hospitals' shift towards a 'physical plus digital' healthcare model.
Financial Performance and Future Outlook
Manipal Hospitals reported a robust financial performance in the 2025-26 fiscal year, with operational revenues rising by 25.4% to Rs 10,336 crore and EBITDA reaching Rs 2,644 crore. The successful integration of Sahyadri Hospitals in Maharashtra and Medica Synergie in Eastern India contributed to this growth.
The group's clinical strategy is centered on six specialties under the 'CONGO-R' cluster: cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, gastro sciences, orthopedics, and renal sciences. These areas accounted for 64.3% of the company's gross inpatient revenue in the last fiscal year.
With a network of 49 hospitals and 13,037 licensed beds across 14 states and Union Territories as of March 31, 2026, Manipal Hospitals serves over 76 lakh patients annually. The company emphasizes its commitment to expanding its integrated platform and maintaining its reputation for delivering quality healthcare.
