Mahajan Imaging and Neuberg Diagnostics Launch Joint Venture in North India
Mahajan Imaging & Neuberg Diagnostics partner to expand integrated diagnostics in seven North Indian states.
In a significant move for the diagnostics industry, Mahajan Imaging & Labs and Neuberg Diagnostics have announced a joint venture to establish an integrated diagnostics network across seven North Indian states. This collaboration aims to enhance access to advanced imaging, pathology, and genomics, focusing on preventive and personalised healthcare.
Strategic Expansion Across North India
The joint venture will operate under the Mahajan Imaging & Neuberg Labs brand, pending regulatory approvals. Mahajan Imaging & Labs will become Neuberg Diagnostics' exclusive partner in the region, taking over existing operations in Noida, Lucknow, and Jammu. Kabir Mahajan will lead the initiative as CEO.
The venture plans to initially target the Delhi-NCR region before expanding to other major cities over the next 18 months. Covering a territory that comprises about 40% of India's population, the expansion will utilize a network of hub laboratories, collection centers, and advanced imaging facilities.
Building Centres of Excellence
A cornerstone of this partnership is the development of Centres of Excellence for specialised diagnostics. These hubs will integrate testing with clinical expertise and technology, advancing fields such as molecular pathology, genomics, and transplant immunology. Plans include establishing a genomics laboratory in Delhi and enhancing capabilities in electron microscopy-based renal biopsy evaluation.
The collaboration aims to elevate pathology from a mere testing service to a comprehensive diagnostic platform, offering clinicians and patients a more holistic view of health.
Focus on Longevity and Preventive Healthcare
Beyond traditional diagnostics, the joint venture is venturing into longevity and preventive healthcare. Neuberg Diagnostics plans to open dedicated longevity centers in Delhi and Mumbai, featuring whole-body MRIs and whole-genome sequencing. These centers, under the Atlas Health Map brand, will focus on diagnostics and risk assessment, providing insights into disease predisposition and lifestyle influences.
The initiative reflects a shift from reactive healthcare to a model centered on prediction and prevention, aiming to offer personalized health management.
Leveraging AI and Technology
Technology and artificial intelligence will play a crucial role in the joint venture. Mahajan Imaging & Labs, which has integrated AI in imaging since 2016, will further explore AI applications in enhancing diagnostic quality and workflow efficiency. The partnership foresees AI contributing to quality control and decision support, particularly in radiology.
By combining advanced technology with comprehensive diagnostic services, Mahajan Imaging & Neuberg Labs aim to set a new standard in healthcare delivery across North India.
