Dr. Ashok Sharma emphasized the importance of leveraging local innovations like iOncology.ai to address cancer care gaps in the Global South. He noted that BRICS countries, accounting for over 40% of the world’s population, face significant challenges in cancer care, with 9 million new cases and 4.66 million deaths annually. The review points to disparities in cancer patterns and access to care within these regions.
iOncology.ai is positioned within India's growing digital health infrastructure, which includes population screening and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
