IMA Cautions Against H1N1 Self-Medication Amid Rising Cases

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has issued a warning to the public regarding the self-medication of antibiotics and antivirals as cases of H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, continue to rise across India. This advisory comes amidst concerns about inappropriate medication practices exacerbating health issues.

Dr. Sharad Kumar Agarwal, President of the IMA, stated that antibiotics are ineffective against viral infections like H1N1 and should not be used without a doctor's prescription. Preventive Measures and Public Health Recommendations
