Fortis to Manage 400-Bed Hospital in Delhi's Ashok Vihar

Fortis Hospitals has entered into a definitive agreement with Seth Sunder Lal Jain Charitable Eye Hospital to manage a 400-bed super specialty hospital in Delhi's Ashok Vihar. Announced on September 18, 2026, the collaboration will see Fortis providing healthcare services under a long-term agreement, aiming to start operations within the next three to four years pending necessary approvals.

Details of the Agreement

The agreement grants Fortis Hospotel Limited (FHTL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fortis, exclusive rights to offer specified inpatient healthcare services and specialized equipment. In return, Seth Sunder Lal Jain Society (SLJ Society), which owns the hospital, will pay a service fee to FHTL. The agreement is set for 29 years, with an option for extension based on mutually agreed terms.

FHTL will also provide the necessary clinical manpower to ensure comprehensive healthcare services at the facility. The hospital will span 3.1 acres and is planned to open in phases, featuring specialties such as Oncology, Neurosciences, Cardiac Sciences, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Renal Sciences, robotic surgeries, and Transplants.

Investment and Development Plans

SLJ Society will own and develop the land, building, and certain medical infrastructures. To support these efforts, FHTL will offer a phased loan to the society, aligned with the hospital's construction and operational progress over the next three to four years.

This new venture will enhance Fortis' presence in the Delhi-NCR region, increasing its serviceable bed capacity to over 3,500. The facility aims to provide both tertiary and quaternary healthcare services, enhancing the healthcare landscape of the region.
