Dr. Siddiqui is a specialist in ophthalmology (eye diseases), holding an MS and having served as a professor in ophthalmology. His clinical expertise has earned him recognition in medical circles, including reportedly receiving the prestigious Sushruta Award — an honour given to ophthalmologists for significant contributions in eye care and research — at a national conference of eye professionals.

Leadership at Government Medical College, Seoni

Appointed as Dean & CEO of Government Medical College, Seoni, Dr. Siddiqui is part of a broader cadre of leaders selected by the Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Department to head the state’s government-run medical institutions. His appointment was formalised in April 2024 as part of a policy to strengthen institutional leadership across 18 government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Under his stewardship, the institution — still in the early phases of its development — has achieved key milestones:

• Expansion of MBBS seats: The college originally received approval for 50 MBBS seats from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and has subsequently been expanded to 100 seats, allowing more students to pursue medical education closer to home. Dr. Siddiqui played a crucial role in navigating regulatory and administrative processes for this increase.
• Infrastructure growth: The sprawling campus, spread over acres near Pench National Forest Reserve, is being developed with modern academic buildings, lecture halls, hostels, and plans for full-fledged hospital facilities aimed at meeting healthcare needs in and beyond Seoni district.
