Chhattisgarh’s Health Department has introduced major reforms to its undergraduate medical admission process, effective July 30, 2025. The entire counselling process—registration, seat allotment, and fee payment—will now be conducted online to improve transparency and reduce administrative hurdles. Priority will be given to students with Chhattisgarh domicile status, including within SC/ST/OBC and management/NRI quotas in private medical colleges. The mandatory rural service bond for selected candidates has been reduced from two years to one year. Income certificate rules for OBC candidates have been simplified, and vacant EWS seats can now be reassigned to general category students. Additionally, students are allowed to re-register in each counselling round, adding flexibility and fairness. These reforms aim to empower local candidates and increase access for meritorious students across all backgrounds.
