Centre asks states to ramp up surveillance as 14 children die on consuming adulterated cough syrup

Chairing a high-level meeting, the Union Health Secretary, has asked states to ensure enhanced surveillance, reporting under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) and undertake joint action in the context of outbreak response and unusual health events.
