Aster DM to Invest Rs 134.4 Crore in Thiruvananthapuram Hospital Expansion

Aster DM Quality Care Ltd has announced a significant investment aimed at expanding its healthcare footprint in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The company's subsidiary, KIMS Health Care Management Ltd (KHML), will allocate approximately Rs 134.4 crore for the enhancement of its KIMSHEALTH Hospital. The expansion project, approved by the Board of Directors, involves the construction of a new block and the optimization of existing facilities.

Boosting Hospital Capacity

The expansion will increase the hospital's capacity by 184 beds, bringing the total number of beds to around 979 from the current 795. This development is strategically planned to be completed by May 2028. The investment will be financed through a combination of 70 percent debt and 30 percent equity, according to the company's regulatory filing.

Addressing Space Constraints

This expansion initiative is a response to current space constraints and aims to bolster the hospital's ability to cater to a growing patient base. It will also allow for the expansion of key medical specialties, ultimately strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the region.
