ANHVL to Invest ₹2,200 Crore to Boost Bed Capacity in Eastern India
ANHVL plans to expand its bed capacity to 2,500 over the next 4-5 years by investing ₹2,200 crore.
Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Ltd (ANHVL) has announced a substantial investment of ₹2,200 crore to enhance its healthcare infrastructure in eastern India over the next four to five years. This initiative aims to increase the company’s bed capacity from 700 to 2,500, as stated by Managing Director Parthiv Neotia.
Expansion Plans in Howrah and Beyond
As part of this ambitious expansion, ANHVL will invest approximately ₹150 crore to establish a 120-bed facility dedicated to women and child care in Howrah. This facility will be part of the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre network and is expected to become operational by April 2029. Neotia highlighted Howrah as a crucial growth corridor, citing a rising demand for specialized healthcare services for women and children.
The Howrah center aims to provide advanced clinical expertise, offering comprehensive maternal, neonatal, and pediatric care to local families. This development is intended to minimize the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized healthcare services.
Adopting an Asset-Light Model
To optimize capital efficiency, ANHVL plans to implement an asset-light model for several upcoming projects. This includes facilities in Raipur, Guwahati, and Durgapur. In Durgapur, ANHVL has partnered with Amit Metaliks, where the latter will provide land and infrastructure, while ANHVL will manage hospital operations.
The Raipur facility, another specialized center for women and children, is scheduled to open by the end of this year. This aligns with ANHVL’s strategy to expand its specialized care offerings across the region.
Broadening Healthcare Footprint
Currently, ANHVL operates four healthcare facilities and is developing six additional projects. These include a multispeciality hospital in Guwahati, another in Taratala (Kolkata), and a multispeciality hospital in New Town (Kolkata). The pipeline also encompasses the women and child care centers in Howrah, Durgapur, and Raipur.
With these developments, ANHVL aims to significantly enhance healthcare access and quality across eastern India, addressing the growing demand for specialized medical services. The strategic investments are expected to not only expand the company's physical presence but also elevate the standard of healthcare available in these regions.
