AIIMS Workshop Targets Improved Education for Cardiometabolic Diseases

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi has initiated a significant workshop aimed at enhancing health education for cardiometabolic diseases. This event, organized by AIIMS's Centre of Excellence under the leadership of Prof. Nikhil Tandon and Ambuj Roy, assembles a diverse group of stakeholders including experts, policymakers, and academic partners. The workshop is part of the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) programme.

The workshop convenes an array of professionals such as Advisory Committee members, subject-matter experts, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) State Nodal Officers, and representatives from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC). Faculty from various academic institutions are also present to contribute their insights. The goal is to review findings from the project's formative phase and strategize future steps.
Through discussions that focus on pre-service and in-service education, the workshop seeks to identify implementation priorities and training needs. It also aims to address potential challenges in strengthening cardiometabolic disease (CMD) education for health professionals across India.
