AIIMS Workshop Aims to Enhance Cardiometabolic Disease Education
AIIMS New Delhi convenes experts to improve training for cardiometabolic disease management.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi has launched a significant initiative to bolster health education concerning cardiometabolic diseases. This effort is spearheaded by the AIIMS Centre of Excellence, under the leadership of Professors Nikhil Tandon and Ambuj Roy, as part of the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) programme.
Collaboration for Enhanced Health Education
The workshop, held at AIIMS, gathers a diverse group of stakeholders including experts, policymakers, programme leaders, and academic partners. This assembly is designed to address the growing burden of cardiometabolic diseases through improved education for health professionals. Attendees include members of the Advisory Committee, subject-matter experts, NCD State Nodal Officers, and representatives from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).
The gathering aims to reflect on findings from the project's formative phase and develop strategies for future implementation. Key areas of focus include pre-service and in-service education, identifying training needs, and understanding potential challenges in the sector.
