AIIMS Workshop Aims to Enhance Cardiometabolic Disease Education
AIIMS New Delhi hosts a workshop to improve education on cardiometabolic diseases, uniting experts and policymakers.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi is spearheading efforts to enhance education for cardiometabolic diseases through a comprehensive workshop. This event, organized by AIIMS' Centre of Excellence for the Education of Health Professionals, is part of the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) programme, led by Prof. Nikhil Tandon and Ambuj Roy.
The workshop aims to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, programme leaders, and academic partners. Participants include Advisory Committee members, subject-matter experts, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) State Nodal Officers, representatives from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), along with faculty from various academic institutions.
Focus on Collaborative Strategies
During the workshop, attendees will engage in discussions centered on pre-service and in-service education, with a focus on identifying implementation priorities, training needs, and potential challenges. The goal is to gather diverse perspectives and co-design approaches that can effectively strengthen cardiometabolic disease (CMD) education for health professionals across India.
The initiative seeks to translate evidence and stakeholder experience into practical strategies for building capacity and improving the preparedness of health professionals to tackle the increasing burden of cardiometabolic diseases in the country.
