AIIMS Hosts Workshop to Enhance Health Education for Cardiometabolic Diseases

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi has initiated a strategic workshop aimed at improving health education related to cardiometabolic diseases. The event, organized by AIIMS' Centre of Excellence for the Education of Health Professionals, brings together a diverse group of stakeholders under the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) programme.

Collaborative Approach to Education Reform

Led by Prof. Nikhil Tandon and Ambuj Roy, the workshop engages experts, policymakers, and academic partners to address the growing challenge of cardiometabolic diseases in India. Participants include Advisory Committee members, subject-matter experts, NCD State Nodal Officers, and representatives from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC). The goal is to assess current educational practices and explore new methodologies for training health professionals.

Focus on Evidence-Based Strategies

The discussions focus on both pre-service and in-service education, identifying key priorities and training needs. By leveraging findings from the project's formative phase, the workshop aims to convert evidence and stakeholder experiences into actionable strategies.
